Tutorial: Getting started - Creating a FTP site connection

 Launch AceFTP Pro
Click on Start / Program / AceFTP Pro.

 Create a connection
To connect to a site, you need to create a connection from aceftp to that site and enter all connection information such as server, username and password.
  1. click on File -> Connection
  2. select New Site Profile
  3. and enter the information you received from your FTP provider in the following cases:
    username
    password
    server info.
  4. Click on Next button and on Finish button.


 Specify folders on connection
It is possible to specify folders to open views for when connecting to the servers.
This step is not mandatory. If you wish not to specify default folders, click on Finish button.

To specify folders while you are creating a connection:

  1. In the 'Enter local folder' case, click on the folder represented icon and browse over directories until you are in the folder to be opened by default when connecting to the server. Or you can enter manually the directory in this format: 'C:\my folder'.
  2. In the 'Enter host folder' case, enter manually the directory in this format: '/my folder/en/'.
  3. click on Finish button.



To specify folder after the connection is created:

  1. Go to the 'Properties' of the connection,
  2. select 'Folders',
  3. select 'Initial Local', specify the directory in the blank case, then click on the Add button,
  4. select 'Initial Remote', specify the directory in the blank case, then click on the Add button,
  5. click on Finish button.

 Transfer files
  1. Connect to the FTP site: File -> Connection and double-click on the FTP site connection (you have just created).
  2. The left panel represents your local computer, the right panel represents the server.
  3. To transfer a file from your local computer to the server: select a file to transfer from the left panel and click on the arrow pointing to the right direction in the middle toolbar.
  4. To transfer a file from the server to your local computer: select a file to transfer from the right panel and click on the arrow pointing to the left direction in the middle toolbar.
